Washington and Seattle University will renew their basketball rivalry at 8 p.m. March 3 at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. It will mark the first time the schools have met in basketball since 1979. Seattle is in the first year of a transition back to Division I after dropping from the highest level of college athletics in 1980.
The game was arranged to make up for the cancelation of UW’s game against Lehigh due to weather last month. A makeup date that worked for both schools couldn’t be found, so UW and SU decided to begin meet one season earlier than previously planned.
Those holding tickets for the UW-Lehigh game can use them for the Seattle U. game. For others, tickets go on sale Friday through the Husky ticket office (1-206-543-2200) or online at www.gohuskies.com.
