Gallant top local placer in Boston Marathon

Bellingham's Daniel M. Gallant was the top local finisher at Monday's 111th running of the Boston Maraton.

Gallant finished 1,011th overall with his time of three hours, one minute, four seconds. That time was the 964th best turned in by a male runner and the 205th best in his division.

Kenya's Robert Cheruiyot claimed the overall men's title and his third Boston Marathon win, while Russia's Lidiya Grigoryeva was the top finishing woman.
