Steelheaders set 2014 fundraiser dinner date

The Northwest Washington Steelheaders have tentatively set Saturday, March 15 for their 2014 fundraiser banquet and auction.

The club is seeking to bolster its coffers so it can make commitments in the coming years to raise more hatchery steelhead for the Nooksack through Kendall Creek Hatchery.

Some proceeds of their annual fundraising efforts also go to providing prizes and refreshments for the Bellingham Kids’ Fishing Derby, a tradition dating back to the 1950s that’s held in early May each year at Whatcom Falls Park.

Club members will meet each second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Herb Neimann’s Steak and Schnitzel House in Everson to prepare for the March banquet.
