Congratulations to the County Council and Councilman Mann for a worthwhile discussion the morning of March 31. Hearing leaders in the mental health community explain services offered — both in the community and especially in the jail — was tremendously valuable. And the information about upgrading our so-called triage center was timely. It is clear to me that Anne Deacon can determine the needs and costs to get that moving.
Then that evening Jackie Mitchell added crucial information with her 2014 Jail Behavioral Health Program Report. Overall, the two meetings make me feel quite good about the path that we are on for the mentally ill and other at-risk members of our community.
