The Adult Day Health Care Task Force is delighted that PeaceHealth and Christian Health Care Center have reached an agreement to close the gap in services for caregivers and clients of Adult Day Health Care. PeaceHealth generously has agreed to keep their doors open to these clients, with Christian Health Care Center taking over the daily operation while simultaneously building a facility in north county. We want to thank both organizations for negotiating in good faith to serve this most vulnerable population. The League of Woman Voters believes that this effort shows the strength of our community when we all work together for the common good. Our task force will continue to work to seek a path toward a new facility in Bellingham as all parties are agreed on the need for such services in both the north and south county. We appreciate the Herald shining a light on the dementia epidemic as our population ages and therefore the reason these services are so important.
Thank you, PeaceHealth for listening to our concerns. And thank you, Christian Health Care Center for taking on the challenge to continue this necessary, excellent program.
