Thinks political mudslinging detracts from the message

In response to Rik Dalvit’s cartoon in the Oct. 5 Herald: Right on. There are too many important issues that the candidates should be addressing. In my opinion, negative advertising only detracts from the message the candidate should be trying to get out to the voters. In this case, both candidates have records of public service. Run on those records, not the perceived mud that you can find on your opponent. If you want my vote, persuade me that you can do the best job, not just that you think your opponent is a rascal.
