Unhappy with loss of Adult Day Health

I am appalled to see the closing of the Adult Day Health Services. These services were provided to several people I know. They included skilled nursing, therapy, lunches and especially Alzheimer’s care when required. The whole concept was to reduce the cost of these services to allow these people to stay in their homes, retaining as much dignity as possible. I know some of these services will be moved to Lynden, but still it has been a blow to the least of us and to our loved ones. I didn’t realize Obama Care and our Bellingham City Council would make things this much worse for my loved ones. I really wonder what else they will do to us as we grow older and less able to resist and adjust to these unexpected increases in cost and cuts in services.
