VOLUNTEER VIEW: Happy Tails Happy Homes looks for correct pet match

Happy Tails Happy Homes was established in 2011 and had about 50 volunteers in 2014.

Purpose: Happy Tails Happy Homes is a no-kill nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to protecting and serving the well-being of animals and to fostering positive relationships between people and animals. We have no shelter, no office and no paid staff. All of the animals in our organization are in foster homes. All of the money donated to Happy Tails Happy Homes goes directly to the animals. We are interested in saving all animals and understand that some may take longer to place than others. Our goal is to make the correct match, not just any match.

Volunteer highlights: Every volunteer in our organization is very important. Each of us has a main focus and things that are our strengths. We all try to work towards those as we work to save the animals.

Signature fundraiser: Drinking For Dogs, generally in late August or early September, features live music and a silent auction.

Wish List: Leashes for large dogs, no-pull harnesses – all sizes, high quality dog food (especially grain free), exercise pens, gas cards, items for our fundraising auction

Volunteer needs: We desperately need help with the following volunteer positions: accountant, volunteer coordinator, transportation help, event planner for Drinking For Dogs, grant writer, experienced dog handlers/trainers, foster homes for large (over 30-pound) dogs, foster homes without other animals.
