Both lanes of southbound Interstate 5 near South Samish Way were blocked for about an hour Tuesday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash.

County dispatchers reported that a car had crashed into the median shortly before 4 p.m. When first responders arrived, the driver was unconscious, according to police dispatch. She was brought back to consciousness after two doses of the overdose-reversing drug Narcan, but was trapped in the car.

Dispatchers reported that she was freed from the car and transported for medical care around 4:15 p.m. Police remain on the scene.

WSDOT reported around 5:15 p.m. that both lanes of traffic had been cleared.

Editor’s note: A previous version of this article listed an incorrect direction of travel that was blocked by the crash, due to incorrect information from WSDOT.
