Northbound Interstate 5 reopened about 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, south of the Samish Way exit after an early morning collision.

Washington State Department of Transportation tweeted that its crews cleared the truck involved.

“Traffic continues to detour off the freeway at the Samish Way off-ramp and back onto the freeway at the on-ramp,” WSDOT said.

Emergency units were sent to a traffic collision at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the Pulse Point app. A fire on a semi-truck was extinguished on the freeway.

“Our crews are making progress, the semi is now upright,” WSDOT tweeted at 9:15 a.m., advising motorists to continue to seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.
