Lower Columbia church coalition to host healing event after fatal Nippon spill

A group of 24 local churches is holding an event to help the community heal after the fatal May 26 chemical spill in Longview.

The churches, including New & Living Way Church in Kelso and New Hope City Church in Longview, plan to hold the event at 6:30 p.m. June 19 at Lake Sacajawea's Martin Dock in Longview.

The event is set to include a community-wide choir and time for prayer, according to an event press release.

The event is free and open to all. The notice states that community leaders and first responders will also attend.
