Puyallup man killed in wrong-way I-90 wreck identified

A Puyallup man who died Sunday in a wreck on Interstate 90 was identified Tuesday by the Kittitas County coroner.

The man, Dillon O’Brien, 23, was driving east in the westbound freeway lanes about 4 a.m. when his car hit a SUV near Snoqualmie Pass, the Washington State Patrol said.

Troopers investigating the wreck do not yet know why O’Brien was in the wrong lane, State Patrol spokesman Chris Webb said. It was not yet known whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

The 50-year-old SUV driver and his 69-year-old female passenger were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The man was in serious condition in intensive care Tuesday. The woman was released Sunday.
