Several news organizations reported Friday night that the Connecticut State Police were put on alert for a possible threat to President Barack Obama.
The president was in Rhode Island for a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser at a private home, according to his schedule. He left shortly after 9:30 p.m. for the White House without incident, the Providence (R.I.) Journal reported.
Meanwhile, the The Courant in Hartford, Conn., reported that a car the Secret Service was seeking in connection with the alleged threat had been located in Hamden, Conn., according to state police. No further details were available.
