Whatcom, Snohomish deputies rescue Lake Stevens man injured near Baker Lake

A Lake Stevens man who was injured in a snowmobiling accident east of Baker Lake on Friday remained in serious condition in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Sunday, March 23, according to a nursing supervisor.

Deputies from the Whatcom and Snohomish county sheriff's offices rescued 41-year-old Ty Reoh Friday, March 21, after a member of the group he was riding with reported he had fallen about 15 feet onto some rocks near Watson Lakes and received major injuries when his snowmobile landed on top of him, according to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies got the report around 1:30 p.m. Friday and asked Snohomish rescuers to use their helicopter to assist in the search and rescue efforts, Whatcom Deputy Mark Jilk said in a recorded media update.

Deputies located Reoh, who was believed to have suffered a broken leg and possibly a broken back, around 4 p.m. Friday, and first took him to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett for treatment, Jilk said.
