Woman flees man who threatened to shoot her at Bellingham motel

Police are seeking a man who aimed a weapon at a woman at a north Bellingham motel Tuesday night, Aug. 9.

Bellingham police Lt. Bob Vander Yacht said the woman, a guest of the Quality Inn Baron Suites, 100 E. Kellogg Road, was smoking a cigarette near the pool shortly after 11 p.m. when a man approached, pointed a gun and threatened to “shoot her in the face.” Vander Yacht said the woman ran inside the building and was shaken but uninjured. The man fled.

Vander Yacht said the woman described the man as white, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, wearing baggy clothing, possibly with sores on his face. A description of the weapon was not given.

Police searched the area using a dog, but didn’t find the suspect. Anyone with information about this, or a similar incident, is asked to call 360-778-8611.
