A Surrey, B.C., woman suffered a severe arm injury when she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed on Highway 20 in Whatcom County about four miles east of Newhalem on Saturday morning, July 16, according to a Washington State Patrol report.
Susan A. Barron, 57, was eastbound on her black 2005 Harley-Davidson with a pack of riders about 11 a.m. when her motorcycle began to wobble and she crossed the fog line and slammed into the guardrail near milepost 124.
Barron skidded for a short distance along the guardrail, causing a compound arm fracture, said state patrol Sgt. Mark Francis. He said she went by ambulance to Skagit Valley hospital and later was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was listed in satisfactory condition on Monday, July 18.
Barron’s motorcycle was damaged and towed. She was wearing a helmet and had a motorcycle endorsement, the state patrol’s report said.
