He fractured a 71-year-old man’s face, and police want your help finding him

Police released photos and are asking for help identifying a man who assaulted and fractured the face of a 71-year-old man who was driving through a bank parking lot about 10 a.m. Monday in downtown Bellingham.

The Bellingham Police Department released surveillance camera photos of the alleged attacker in a Facebook post early Thursday.

The post said the man is believed to be in his 30s, average height and weight and was wearing blue pants, a blue or black coat and a light-colored shirt with a hood under the coat. He also reportedly has brown hair with a couple days’ growth of facial hair.

Police ask anyone with information on the identity of the man, or who witnessed the assault or remembers seeing the suspect in the area to contact them by either:
