Firefighters will be setting fire to and extinguishing a home during a training exercise Sunday, April 26, east of Custer.
North Whatcom Fire and Rescue firefighters will conduct the training from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the home at 8021 Woodland Road. Crews will get the opportunity to fight fire in a real building and practice their skills in attacking fires and search and rescue.
The ’50s home was donated to the district specifically for live fire training, according to the district.
People in the area should expect to see smoke at times as firefighters train.
