A murder suspect who police thought might have crossed the border into Whatcom County has been arrested in Vancouver after a month on the run.

Daniel Alphonse Paul, 42, has been sought since March 3, when the body of his girlfriend, 36-year-old Rose Paul, was found in the basement of a East 22nd Avenue home in Vancouver.

After being unable to track down Daniel Paul, Vancover police said he might have crossed the border into the U.S., but they still leaned toward him being in the Vancouver area.

Daniel Paul was arrested Wednesday evening, April 1, after officers recognized him as he rode a bicycle on West Broadway near Yukon Street, according to Vancouver police.
