The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 64-year-old Lynden-area man who was last seen a week ago.
The wife of Robert Cross reported him missing about 10 p.m. March 6.
He was last seen about 10 a.m. that day helping out a neighbor near H Street Road and Froberg Road.
“While we don’t have specifics to suggest he is in danger or suspect foul play, his absence is out of character according to family members,” said Doug Chadwick, chief criminal deputy for the Sheriff’s Office.

“Family indicates that he does not suffer from any cognitive disabilities, but has a history of heart conditions,” he added.
Cross is about 6 feet tall, of medium build and black.
He was driving a 2003 GMC Yukon with Washington license plate BAS7258. The vehicle hasn’t been found either.
“Pings” from his cell phone came back with possible locations on H Street Road, North Enterprise Road and in downtown Bellingham, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
“We will continue to monitor cell phone and bank information to assist with pinpointing Mr. Cross’ whereabouts,” Chadwick said.
But authorities aren’t actively searching for Cross, he added, because they don’t have a specific location to “deploy resources to conduct an area search.”
Anyone with information about Cross or his vehicle should report it by calling 911.
