Despite the record temperatures over the last week, summer vacation is indeed coming to a close, with Belllingham Public Schools the first to return to class on Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Here’s a list of the school districts, colleges and private schools in Whatcom County kicking off their fall terms in the coming days or weeks:

Bellingham Public Schools: Wednesday, Aug. 24

Lynden Christian Schools: Tuesday, Aug. 30

Blaine School District: Wednesday, Aug. 31

Lynden School District: Wednesday, Aug. 31

Meridian School District: Wednesday, Aug. 31

Nooksack Valley School District: Wednesday, Aug. 31

Mount Baker School District: Thursday, Sept. 1

Explorations Academy: Tuesday, Sept. 6

Ferndale Schools: Wednesday, Sept. 7

Lummi Nation School: Wednesday, Sept. 7

Northwest Indian College fall term: Monday, Sept. 19

Bellingham Technical College fall quarter: Tuesday, Sept. 20

Whatcom Community College fall quarter: Tuesday, Sept. 20

Western Washington University fall term: Wednesday, Sept. 21
