Did you miss the opening day of the Northwest Washington Fair on Monday? Fear not, because there are activities and events galore all week. Here’s the fair schedule for Wednesday, Aug. 17:
Hours: 9 a.m.-11 p.m. through Aug. 20; carnival rides and games for all ages open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
Where: Northwest Washington Fair and Events Center, 1775 Front St., Lynden.
Cost: Gate admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 62 and older and $7 for children ages 6-12. Children 5 and younger are admitted for free.

Getting there: Whatcom Transportation Authority is offering free rides, plus special service to the fair. Details: ridewta.com.
Lynden PRCA Rodeo at 7:30 p.m., $15. For the first time in Lynden, both nights of the rodeo will be part of the Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign. Contestants, volunteers and spectators are encouraged to wear pink shirts to raise awareness of breast cancer while local rodeo volunteers conducted fundraisers. Free grandstand horse shows will be presented at noon and 5 p.m. Aug. 17-20 and wild pony races will be part of them Aug. 17. Separate draft horse show at 1:15 p.m. in the Washington Tractor Arena.
