A free fair – complete with therapy llamas, self-defense demonstrations and a fire safety exhibit – aims to connect kids and parents with safety resources leading up to the start of school.
PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center will host the Jumpin’ Back to School Fair at 9 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, at St. Luke’s Community Health Education Center at 3333 Squalicum Parkway. It will run until noon.
Business, agencies and organizations from around the county will host exhibits at the event, including Whatcom Family YMCA, the Whatcom Museum, Yeager’s Sporting Goods and Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County. In addition to providing attendees various health and safety information, the fair will also offer sports exams.
The fair is intended to be the first of an annual event.
