What’s with all the bicyclists on Whatcom County roads?

Cascade Bicycle Club of Seattle, the nation’s largest statewide bicycle organization, is planning rides of approximately 1,300 cyclists through Whatcom County on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 12-13, and on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 13-14, as part of two Seattle-to-Vancouver, B.C., events.

Drivers should expect to encounter cyclists on Chuckanut Drive in southern Whatcom County.

Cyclists will use Old Fairhaven Parkway, 32nd Street, Bill McDonald Parkway, Samish Way, East Maple, Ellis and Holly streets, Broadway, Elm Street, Northwest Avenue, Northwest Drive, Wiser Lake Road, Hannegan Road, Front Street (Lynden), British Columbia Avenue, Main Street, Double Ditch Road and finally Aldergrove Avenue on their way north to Canada.
