Crews began tearing down a section of Nooksack Valley Middle School Monday, Aug. 8.
The demolition is the first step toward replacing the school, which is nearly 70 years old. The work comes nearly a year and a half after voters approved the $27.9 million bond that will pay for the new school.
The school is expected to be finished by fall 2017, according to the district. Renderings of the new building can be found in a presentation about the work on the district’s website.
