Fred Meyer and QFC are planning to hire up to 800 workers in Western Washington with a job event on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
The two grocery chains are looking for workers in a variety of store departments and some of those open positions are in the two Bellingham Fred Meyer stores, said Zach Stratton, spokesman for Fred Meyer and QFC.
This is part of a nationwide event for Kroger Co., which owns Fred Meyer and QFC along with several other grocery store chains. At a similar event in May, Kroger hired 11,496 people nationwide.
