Government offices will be closed Monday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday. Some small retail stores and restaurants might be closed as well, but most larger stores and restaurants will be open.

Whatcom County offices: Closed.

Bellingham city offices: Closed.
Whatcom County library branches, bookmobile: Closed, but Friends of the Blaine Library is holding a book sale during Blaine’s Independence Day celebration.
Bellingham Public Library: Closed.
Bellingham parking meters: Not enforced.
U.S. Postal Service: Closed, no mail delivery.
Garbage: Sanitary Service Co. and Nooksack Valley Disposal will pick up trash on regularly scheduled routes. Trucks might be earlier than normal, so put out trash the night before.
Whatcom Transportation Authority: No buses running.
The Bellingham Herald: Offices closed, but regular newspaper delivery.
YMCA: All locations closed.
Arne Hanna Aquatic Center: Closed.
Whatcom Museum: Closed.
Grocery stores: Most have regular hours. Exceptions: Trader Joe’s will close at 5 p.m. Monday; Community Food Co-op locations will close at 8 p.m.
Bellis Fair: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Some anchor stores may be open longer for holiday sales.
Regal Barkley Village Cinema, Pickford Film Center, Limelight Cinema: Open.
Whatcom Community College: Closed.
Western Washington University: Closed.
Bellingham Technical College: Closed.
Northwest Indian College: Closed.
