Whatcom Roundup: New Barkley Village restaurant; brewery opens; music downtown
Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail and restaurant activity around Whatcom County:
New Barkley Village restaurant planned
A new restaurant is coming to Barkley Village, as the owners of “Hey Dumplin’” have filed a building permit application to begin construction at 1263 Barkley Blvd., Suite 102 in Bellingham, the current location of Taqueria Tecalitlan Mexican restaurant.
The application had not been approved as of May 30. The business also filed for a beer and wine license back in November.
Stemma Brewing Co. opens second location
Stemma Brewing Co. opened its new brewery, taproom and beer garden Friday, June 5. The Herald visited the brewery before it opened to give you an inside look at Bellingham’s newest brewery, which has moved in and changed the previous location of Twin Sisters Brewery.
The new brewery, Stemma West, will be open regularly from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 508 Carolina St. in Bellingham.
Downtown Sounds returns to Bellingham
