A brush fire that broke out Thursday afternoon west of Concrete near Highway 20 and Baker Lake Road was contained within several hours, Skagit County Fire Marshal Kelly Blaine said.
As of 5:30 p.m., Blaine said fire crews from the Department of Natural Resources had the fire surrounded. It was likely they would have it extinguished by Friday, he said.
Five Skagit County fire departments responded to the blaze, Blaine said.
A Department of Natural Resources helicopter was also on scene to fight the blaze.

Blaine said he did not have a final number on how big the fire had grown, but a Department of Natural Resources official earlier in the day said the fire had grown to about 6 acres.
Two residences were evacuated.
Highway 20 was closed at Lusk, Russell and Baker Lake roads.
