Police closed part of Cornwall Avenue to investigate suspicious package
Bellingham police blocked off part of the 1000 block of Cornwall Avenue to investigate a suspicious package Friday, Aug. 14.
The closure extended from East Maple Street to East Chesnut Street, according to a tweet from the Bellingham Police Department. Later that afternoon, the Bellingham Police Department Hazardous Device Unit safely removed the package and transported it further away for examination, according to a follow up tweet.
The original tweet advised people to avoid the area. The Bellingham Police Department declined to share more information for now.
