Graduation season begins June 4 in Whatcom County

The caps and gowns have been ordered, final exams are almost over, and yearbooks are being signed as graduation season is underway in Whatcom County.

The first ceremonies take place Thursday, June 4, at Lynden Christian and Lummi Tribal high schools. Local community colleges will have their ceremonies later in the month.

Here is a full list of high school and college graduation ceremonies this month:

• Lummi Tribal High School: 5 p.m. Thursday, June 4, in the Lummi High School gym.



• Lynden Christian High School: 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at Lynden Christian Football Stadium (or Lynden Public Gym in case of poor weather).



• Blaine High School: 6 p.m. Friday, June 5, in the Blaine High School gym.



• Nooksack Valley High School: 7 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Sid Lambert Field (or Kay LeMaster Gym in case of poor weather).



• Lynden High School: 7 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Lynden High School.



• Ferndale High School: 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Civic Field.



• Windward High School: 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, in the Windward High School gym.



• Meridian High School: 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, in the Meridian High School gym.



• Mount Baker High School: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at Bob Tisdale Field.



• Explorations Academy: 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the Explorations Academy lower level.



• Bellingham High School: 7 p.m. Friday, June 19, in the Bellingham High School gym.



• Squalicum High School: 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at Squalicum High School.



• Sehome High School: 5 p.m. Saturday, June 20, in the Squalicum High School gym.



• Options High School: 7 p.m. Monday, June 22, in Bellingham High School Theatre.



• Western Washington University: Saturday, June 13, in Carver Gymnasium. Ceremonies still start at 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets are required for admission. Those without tickets can watch a live broadcast of the ceremonies in the Science, Mathematics and Technology Education building. Off campus, the ceremony will be broadcast live on Whatcom County's Comcast cable channel 26 and streamed live at

• Northwest Indian College: 5 p.m. Friday, June 19, in the Wex li em Community Building.



• Whatcom Community College: 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Civic Field.



• Bellingham Technical College: 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Mount Baker Theatre. Tickets are required for admission.
