Special election ballots on a $48 million bond for Lynden School District are due by Tuesday, April 28.
The bond would fund a new Lynden Middle School on Line Road and replace Fisher Elementary.
The 20-year bond measure requires 60 percent voter approval to pass, and would increase property taxes $1.39 per $1,000 of a home’s assessed value, or about $350 a year for a home valued at $250,000.
Official drop boxes are located at the Lynden Library, 216 4th St., and at the Whatcom County Courthouse south parking lot, at 201 Grand Ave. in Bellingham. Ballots must make it into one of those boxes by 8 p.m. Tuesday or be postmarked by Tuesday to count.
