Ferndale City Council member to seek re-election

City Council member Keith Olson has announced he will seek re-election.

Olson served on the council from 2006-10, then lost his seat to Brent Goodrich before he was elected again to the council in 2012.

“For years I have safeguarded the city taxpayers from developers trying to lessen their costs by shifting them to the city. If re-elected I will continue to do so,” Olson wrote in a press release. “2016 will bring a new mayor and possibly new priorities and directions. We must have council members who are vigilant in protecting our citizens and tax dollars.”

Olson was a supervisory federal agent for 25 years and a police officer for five years before he retired in 2012. He has lived in Ferndale since 1994 with his wife Joylen and his son Keith Richard Olson.
