Whatcom County Council will take public testimony on a plan for a new county jail on Tuesday, April 14.
The council will hold a public hearing on the jail proposal during its 7 p.m. meeting, and has invited people to offer specific ideas for jail diversion programs.
Council meetings are held in council chambers at 311 Grand Avenue.
The hearing on the jail will likely take place after two other public hearings scheduled that night. Documents for council meetings are posted in advance online at co.whatcom.wa.us/council.
