Two Christian acts are the first announced for the entertainment lineup at the 2015 Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden.
Skillet and special guest Colton Dixon will perform Aug. 20 at the fair. Tickets for this double bill are $25 for reserved grandstand seats and $35 for preferred seats. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 15 at nwwafair.com. They also will be available then at the fair office, 1775 Front St. in Lynden, and by phone at 877-699-3247.
The Skillet performance is the first grandstand show announced for this year’s fair, held Aug. 17-22. Other grandstand shows will be announced later this spring.
Skillet won Rock Album of the Year for “Rise” and Rock Song of the Year for “Not Gonna Die” at the 2014 Dove Awards, presented by the the Gospel Music Association. Its previous album, “Awake,” reached certified platinum status with track sales of nearly 4 million.
Colton Dixon’s 2013 debut, “A Messenger,” was the top-seller by a new Christian artist that same year after Dixon’s seventh-place finish on Season 11 of “American Idol.” He toured with Third Day, TobyMac and Josh Wilson.
