Health and wellness fair for seniors March 28 in Bellingham

Bellingham Senior Activity Center will host a free health and wellness fair called “What’s Next? A Healthier You,” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the center, 315 Halleck St.

In the morning, keynote speaker Jerry Marschke, executive director of PeaceHealth St Joseph’s Cardiovascular Center, will discuss “Staying Active, How PeaceHealth Medical Center is your Partner in Wellness and Health.” Other morning presentations include “Be Your Own Advocate” by Hilary Walker, occupational therapist from Anacortes Island Hospital, and “Balance and Bone Health” by Sidney Anderson, physical therapist from Oasis Physical Therapy in Bellingham.

There will be morning refreshments, and people can enjoy a $5 lunch prepared by the Meals On Wheels and More program.

At 1:45 p.m., people can attend a cooking demonstration, “Low Budget Cooking: From Ho Hum to Yum!” or listen to Linda Banks, nutrition nurse at PeaceHealth, discuss “Living WholeHEARTedly.”
