WWU winter commencement Saturday, March 21

Around 550 students will get degrees from Western Washington University at winter quarter commencement Saturday, March 21.

The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. in Carver Gym.

The guest speaker will be Dennis Murphy, a WWU alumnus who served as dean of the College of Business and Economics for 25 years. He has retired from administrative work but continues to teach economics and finance courses.

The student speaker will be Marguerite Balch, who will receive her bachelor’s degree in early child education Saturday.

A ticket is required for admission. Those without tickets can watch the ceremony on a large viewing screen in the Science, Mathematics and Technology Education building, on Comcast channel 26 or streamed live at ustream.tv/channel/wwu-live-events1.

Guest parking is free on commencement day and available in most lots. Shuttle bus service will be available from the 12A parking lot off Bill McDonald Parkway near Fairhaven College from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
