More than an inch of rain fell Sunday, March 15, in the Bellingham area, setting a daily record.
The 1.14 inches, as recorded at Bellingham International Airport, eclipsed the old record of 0.85 inch for March 15, set in 1974.
That’s more rain than Bellingham had received so far this month and more than a third of the average total for the entire month of March, according to the National Weather Service.
More rain is expected Tuesday, followed by a chance of rain through the rest of the week.
