Medicare 101 workshop offered March 19 at WCC

Learn the basics of the Medicare system during a Thursday, March 19, workshop at Whatcom Community College.

Participants will learn about what Medicare does and doesn’t cover, Medicare enrollment, rights, health plans and supplements, Part D prescription drug plans, and Medicare savings programs.

The class is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and costs $15, which also will cover a spouse or partner.

Medicare is the federal health care insurance program for people ages 65 and older, and for the disabled.

Australia Cosby, coordinator of the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors program, will lead the workshop.

Participants also may have a one-on-one consultation with a SHIBA volunteer.
