Managing shoreline erosion focus of March 21workshop in Blaine

Whatcom County property owners with marine shorelines are invited to a free workshop to learn about the coastal process and how to manage shoreline erosion on their land.

The “Living with the Coast” workshop is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at North Whatcom Fire Station No. 61, 9408 Odell Road, in Blaine.

Property owners worried about bluff erosion, drainage, vegetation and related issues will learn how to reduce impacts to their land while promoting healthy marine ecosystems.

The workshop will include an afternoon beach walk at Semiahmoo.

Northwest Straits Foundation and Whatcom County Marine Resources Committee are hosting the workshop.
