Birders and beach walkers are being sought to help collect data on dead birds found on area beaches.

The Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team will host a beach bird training from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Fairhaven library, 1117 12th St.

Volunteers will learn how to collect data to help track bird mortality on North Pacific beaches. The data helps with marine conservation efforts and protecting marine resources, according to the organizers.

Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to coasst@uw.edu or 206-221-6893.
