A fire burned down a house and caused at least $250,000 in damage Wednesday morning, March 4.
Firefighters responded to reports of flames coming from the first floor of a house at 8987 Jasmine Lane, just north of Berthusen Park near Lynden, around 10:15 a.m., Lynden Assistant Fire Chief Robert Spinner said. The house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
The owners of the home were away when it started, Spinner said. One of the owners returned home and found her house in flames. Nobody was inside the house, and there were no injuries.
Spinner said the home was a total loss. Damage was initially estimated at $250,000.
