Two Bellingham events for heart patients and their families

The Bellingham chapter of Mended Hearts – a nonprofit group of volunteers who support heart patients and their families – has two free events coming up:

• 11 a.m. March 7: A “Greeting Go Round” session lets members and guests share their thoughts during roundtable discussions. People who complete a survey might win a $25 gift certificate from Applebee’s.

• 10 a.m. to noon April 11: A Heart Healthy Health Fair offers information about nutrition, exercise and rehabilitation after a heart incident, benefits of volunteering, blood thinners, legal issues, medications, depression related to heart disease, and sleep apnea.

Both events are at St. Luke’s Community Health Education Center, Room A, 3333 Squalicum Parkway. Details: 360-933-1282, mendedhearts-bellingham.org.
