Charity calendar: WWU theater students stage eight short plays to raise money for trip to London

WWU Presents: Brit Tour 2015

4 p.m., Bellingham Theatre Guild, 1600 H St. Donations requested; 360-778-7323. Interested in watching some great theater, while also helping seven Western Washington University Theatre students fund a trip to London and New York? Come to Brit Tour, where the students will be performing eight short plays. All proceeds go toward funding their trip.

NSEA Fish Trivia Night

6 p.m., Aslan Brewing Co., 1330 N. Forest St. Suggested donation $5, 360-778-2088. The Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) will host a Fish Trivia Night at Aslan Brewing Co. A donation is requested to participate in the trivia, with proceeds benefiting NSEA’s Scientific Monitoring Program.

Friends of the Bellingham Public Library Spring Book Sale

High School Music Awards

10:30 a.m. Trinity Lutheran Church, 119 Texas St., Bellingham. 360-734-2770 The Bellingham Music Club will present the winners of its 2015 student awards for strings and winds. The performers will be the winners of the Nicholas Bussard High School Instrumental Awards and the Ethel Crook High School String Awards. The top Bussard winners are Glenna McGarity on flute, Nikole Ziehe on alto saxophone and Alex Mumford on oboe. The Crook winners are Maya Enstad on cello, Ian Aegerter on violin and Hannah Schoepe on violin. Donations appreciated to support student awards.

Community St. Patrick’s Dinner

5 p.m., Blaine Senior Center, 763 G St., Blaine. Donations accepted 360-332-8040 Meals on Wheels and More partners with the Blaine Senior Center for a Community St. Patrick’s Dinner. A themed meal will be served, along with live Irish entertainment by Up in the Air.

7 and 9 p.m., Bellingham Circus Guild, 1401 6th St., Bellingham. Donation suggested: $5-$10 “Vaudevillingham” is the Bellingham Circus Guild’s monthly uncensored variety show fundraiser. This diverse variety show features everything from dance and aerial performance to comedy, magic, improv, music and more, presented not only by Guild members but local and out-of-town folks too, novice and veteran performers, with a range of acts from raw to polished. Many people bring their kids, especially to the earlier show.”Vaudevillingham” is an all-volunteer show. All the money raised goes to help the Guild continue its mission to support the circus arts in Whatcom County and to radically proliferate delight at every opportunity. 360-421-7827

King’s Men of Song Concert

They will perform at Hope in Christ Church to benefit Lighthouse Mission Ministries. There will be free refreshments, including cookies and coffee.
