Whatcom Transportation Authority resumes sales of bus tokens

Tokens for Whatcom Transportation Authority buses are back by popular demand.

The transit agency had planned to phase out tokens this year and had stopped selling them on Jan. 1. But they are available for purchase again, primarily because social-service agencies like to offer them to clients, WTA spokeswoman Maureen McCarthy said.

Tokens, which are good for one ride, can be purchased in packs of 20 for $20 at Bellingham Station, 205 E. Magnolia St., or online at ridewta.com.
