For two days the high temperature has been 60 degrees, tying one record and nearly reaching another.
The official temperature, as recorded at Bellingham International Airport, hit 60 degrees Thursday, tying the record for Feb. 5, reached in both 1961 and 1963.
The gauge hit 60 again on Friday, two degrees shy of the Feb. 6 record from 1963, according to the National Weather Service.
The normal high for those dates is 48 degrees. Temperatures over the next few days will remain unseasonably warm.
Friday’s warmth was a far cry from last year, when subfreezing temperatures set a record low of 20 degrees for that day, according to NWS records.
