Nooksack River levels have risen rapidly since Thursday, Feb. 5, with minor flooding expected Friday afternoon in the Nugents Corner area.
The river is expected to crest at about 147 feet, several inches above flood stage, around 1 p.m. Shallow flooding of fields along the river downstream through Lynden is expected, according to the National Weather Service.
The river is predicted to rise just shy of flood stage in the Ferndale area.
River levels will remain relatively high through the weekend as more rain is in the forecast.

The NWS also advises that the heavy rains have increased the likelihood of landslides.
