Ferndale native Jake Locker will join local advocates to raise awareness about human trafficking on Thursday, Feb. 5, at Whatcom Community College.
The free event, coordinated by WCC’s social sciences department, will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the college’s Heiner Theatre.
The event will begin with a screening of Seattle-filmed documentary “Chosen.” Aaron Newcomb, co-founder of local shelter Engedi Refuge, which serves women who have been victims of trafficking, and Karen Marion with Whatcom Coalition Against Human Trafficking will join Locker, an NFL quarterback, on a panel that will discuss human trafficking and answer questions from the audience after the screening.
