Class about region’s raptors begins in Bellingham Jan. 8

A renowned raptor biologist once again will teach a series of classes about the region’s raptors and how to identify them.

Bud Anderson’s annual classes, which begin in Bellingham on Jan. 8, have been popular with beginners and seasoned birders alike.

Anderson founded the Bow-based Falcon Research Group in 1985.

Classes will meet 7 to 9 p.m. on five consecutive Thursdays, Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29 and Feb. 5 at Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship, 1207 Ellsworth St.

There also will be an all-day field trip, to be arranged during the session.

The Whatcom Land Trust is sponsoring the classes.

The cost is $175 per person.
