Strong winds are expected to blow through Whatcom County on Friday, Nov. 21, until early Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
A wind advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday. Sustained winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts reaching 45 mph are expected from Bellingham Bay to Point Roberts. The NWS said the strongest winds should come Friday night.
The winds can snap small tree branches or topple shallow-rooted trees, and some power outages may occur, according to the NWS.
